Choosing a language course can be difficult, we know. For that very reason, we like to keep things simple.
We offer group courses (held exclusively at the school) as well as private lessons. Whether you are looking for a general Spanish programme or to achieve some particular goal (passing an exam, for instance), we should have a suitable choice. And always at the same price, no matter how specifically oriented they are (only private, though), what your level is (from absolute beginners to C2, students are separated and grouped accordingly) or when you do it (no seasonal rates).
All our courses are 1 hour = 60 minutes, being the only exception the intensive+, which runs for 4 hours everyday, but has a 20-30 minute daily break after the first two (something like 215 minutes of class each day). The rest of courses have no break.
Courses can take place at different times and on different days as detailed on the courses section of our website and, from time to time, there may be additional options.
We follow a syllabus of contents that is organised weekly. Therefore, since our classes are not standalone sessions, it would not be possible to come at different times on different days because students would end up missing important information from the previous day that might be necessary to understand what they are doing in each class. That is why we assess the level of all students before they start their course, to have a better understanding of what their specific needs are and which group could be best for each.
Unless something unexpected comes up (a teacher being sick, for instance) that requires us to rearrange things, times usually stay the same.
Students can start (provided there is availability) any week they like (unless they are absolute beginners) if they go for one of our group courses or any day of the week (Monday to Friday) if doing just private sessions.
Students can take breaks (whole weeks from Monday to Friday) if they wish, just need to let us know at the time of booking for them to be deducted or at least 10 days ahead (if the course had already started) for them to be postponed.
Other days may be saved as credit for future purchases if we are informed at least one hour ahead (no justification required). It is important to keep in mind that this is not possible with our basic rate, so classes missed in this case are not compensated in any way (no exception).
Catching up with their classmates after one or two weeks away is usually not a problem for most students, going back to their group and teacher should be perfectly fine (unless they prefer to take it exactly from where they left off, in which case they will need to wait for another group to be at that precise point)
Intensive courses run everyday from Monday to Friday and follow an action-oriented approach in order to learn the language and be able to communicate in Spanish, that is, to use it. Contents are addressed progressively during the week, that is, groups continue from where they left off the day before: classes are, therefore, not standalone sessions nor are students required to fill any gaps on their own.Plus+ courses incorporate a complementary session each day for some extra practice which might be especially helpful for those students who may not have many opportunities to use Spanish outside the classroom or that could need a boost (they will definitely help to build a more solid base, but not necessarily to learn more or progress faster), while combo courses include one private 1-to-1 lesson each day in addition to group classes.
Private classes are personally tailored for each person, ideal for students with limited time (staying shorter or having a changing work schedule, for instance) and the perfect way to address specific learning needs, as well as far more flexible than group courses: there is no need to have an exact plan if you are not sure what your availability is going to be, we can organise things week by week so that they adjust to your necessities.
Since there is no deadline to do the hours you purchase, you can simply use them as you go. Have enough time for 1 hour each day this week? Perfecto. Too busy with work on the next? Maybe 1 or 2 only. Are your children going on a trip with friends on the following one? Well, 2 or 3 per day then (or simply go to the beach, read a good book or do whatever you find more relaxing, just enjoy while you can).
And if you know of other people who might also be interested, you can add more students (up to 20 in total and provided you all have the approximate same level) for just €5 per hour and person and have your own private group (no one else could join in). For example, let us imagine that you buy a pack of 20 hours (basic rate):
_If it is just you (1-to-1), it will be €20/hour
_If it is you and 1 other student (2-to-1), it will be €25/hour (€20 + €5)
_If it is you and 2 other students (3-to-1), it will be €30/hour (€20 + €5 + €5)
_If it is you and 3 other students (4-to-1), it will be €35/hour (€20 + €5 + €5 + €5)
…
And so on: the more, the merrier… and the cheaper : )
Extensive courses are aimed exclusively at consolidating skills (speaking, listening and reading): new words, expressions and structures may be acquired through interaction, but no descriptive nor functional contents will be directly addressed during these sessions.Students are therefore required to be at least at an A1 conversational level or above (grouped accordingly): those in need of getting initiated or making progress must choose an intensive course instead.Suitable for people with a good knowledge of Spanish, but limited options to use it.
